We will be using Eureka Math this year. I love teaching this curriculum. It really challenges the students to think about and understand math concepts.

Science
May 14-18
Due to our program practice, we will be covering our final science topic about technology as we have time during the final month. We will look at how design plays a part in creating new things or improving items. We will have a lab on creating and testing paper airplanes! Participation and completion of labs will be factored into the class work portion of the science grade for this grading period.
We will also look at technology and how creating images has changed. The students will create a pixel picture using graph paper and construction paper.

Science Fair: Every 5th grader will be required to complete a science fair project. This is a big portion of the students 3rd grading period grade. The science fair packet will be sent home before Winter Break.
• Each check point will be worth 100 class points. Failure to complete check points and have them signed will earn a zero for that check point.
• The final project is worth 2 test grades.
